Our best-selling jewellery class is the perfect introduction to making! In just two hours at Vanilla Ink CIC in Glasgow, you’ll learn how to craft your own silver ring from scratch, and take it home the very same day.

Choose from a selection of sample styles, find your ring size, and we’ll guide you step-by-step through sawing, shaping, soldering and finishing. Whether you go for simple and shiny or textured and bold, you’ll leave with a handmade ring you’ll be proud to show off.

Can I do this class?

Absolutely! This is one of our classic entry-level Taster Experiences, designed for complete beginners. You don’t need any prior skills, just curiosity and a dash of enthusiasm. We’ll handle the rest and make sure you walk out with a finished piece [and a big grin].

What happens?

You’ll be introduced to the key techniques of traditional jewellery making, including:

• Sawing and annealing

• Shaping and forming

• Soldering and finishing

You’ll use real jeweller’s tools, hammers and torches - yes, there’s FIRE 🔥 - and you’ll finish the session with your own beautiful silver ring.

Do I need to bring anything?

You don’t need to bring anything with you as we will provide all the equipment and materials needed. Everyone will have their own bench with access to all the tools required to make a ring.

Please wear long hair tied up [or bring something to do so], don’t wear open-toed shoes and keep loose-fitting clothing to a minimum.

If you need glasses to see things close up, please bring them with you. Making jewellery is fiddly!
